Bianca is currently studying her Master of Music at the School of Music at the University of Auckland, under the tutelage of Dr. Rae de Lisle. Having began her piano studies at the age of five, Bianca completed her Grade 8 at the age of 12, and went on to achieve her Advanced Certificate, ATCL and LTCL with Distinction. She has had much success in many piano competitions, such as the IRMTNZ and NSPAS Competitions, and has also participated in masterclasses with world class pianists and keyboardists such as Michael Tsalka, and Michael Houstoun in his Celebrate Bach with Michael Houstoun series. Bianca has also had success in the chamber music field, and was part of the Mezzona eight-hands piano group, which debuted in the Auckland Chamber Music Society competition in 2019.
Having began teaching at the end of 2015, Bianca enjoys working with a variety of different students— from a very young age, to advanced students looking to excel in their piano performance. Her students have received great success from their ABRSM grade exams, and build a strong and healthy enjoyment with their time at the piano. At the University of Auckland, she has also studied Music Education and instrumental pedagogy with renowned pedagogues, such as Dr Graham McPhail and Dr Millie Locke.
Within her teaching philosophy, Bianca is focused very much on helping students achieve their innate musical ability, while helping students to have a long-term, successful journey in their piano learning. She is suited for:
- Students who wish to improve their technique and are enthusiastic to learn new and varied ways of technique that will help them play more technical and difficult repertoire;
- Students that want to gain confidence and more enjoyment in their piano learning, and want to enjoy their piano playing experience;
- Students wanting to take the ABRSM piano practical exams, and want ongoing, supportive encouragement to achieve their best
